George Brown College funded scholarships for international students is an in-program award scholarship based on student academic achievements. what this means is that only student who has an active academic year with George Brown College are eligible to apply for scholarships. there are types of George Brown College scholarships
Types of George Brown College Scholarships
#1. Diploma/Degree Scholarships
This type of George Brown College scholarship is only given to eligible students who are returning to school for a post-secondary program which is either diploma or degree program. and there are thirty-one scholarships kept to be awarded to eligible returning students.
in the series of scholarships there are two types for the Diploma/Degree award.
- Fall competition
- winter competition
Fall competition:
The fall competition scholarships have 14 awards worth $5,000 and 17 awards worth $1,000. that is to say that there are 14 and 17 awards of scholarships worth five thousand and one thousand dollars respectively. these scholarship awards will be awarded to returning students who came for a Diploma or Degree in post secondary program.
Note: these scholarships are meant for academic financial assistance for students of such category.
Winter competition:
The winter competition scholarships have 6 awards worth five thousand dollars ($5,000) and 9 awards worth nine thousand dollars ($9,000). these awards are to be awarded to Diploma and Degree scholarship beneficiaries. we are not exactly sure if the award will be given to candidates during the stated seasonal periods.
Application Deadlines
The application deadline for the Fall competition ends on September 30th, 2022 while the application deadline for Winter ends 1st of January 2023.

- You must be an international student with an active and valid study permit
- You must be a student of George Brown College studying a 4 years diploma or Degree program
- must have a minimum of 3.5 GPA academic grade in two semesters of study
- must have participated in departmental activities and community college activities as a social academic contribution

#2. Certificate Scholarships
A certificate scholarship is a grant of financial assistance given newly admitted or current student studying a an academic institution. the purpose of certificate scholarship is to ease financial burdens.
At George Brown College scholarship award grants are usually given to returning students who are into full-time post-secondary certificates or who are enrolled in post-graduate certificate programs which the student of more than 3 semesters.
The certificate scholarships are of two thousand dollars ($2,000) each. which are
- twelve (12) awards for the January competition
- ten (10) awards for the May competition
- ten (10) for September completion
Criteria and Requirements
The following criteria must be met by applicants who wish to apply certificate scholarship
- Student must be an international student
- Student must at least spend more than 2 semesters in the institution
- must have a minimum of 3.5 GPA academic grade in two semesters of study
- must have never earn or being awarded a scholarship from George Brown College

- For the January competition: The deadline is January 31ST 2022
- For the May competition, the deadline line is May 31ST 2022
- For the September competition: The deadline is September 30TH 2022

English For Academic Purpose
George Brown College has put aside eighteen scholarships for English For Academic purposes (EAP) and these scholarships will be available for eligible returning students. and these EAP scholarships are listed below.
#1. scholarships of April and August:
These scholarships are disbursed during April and August, and the worth one thousand dollars ($1,000) each. both of them are a total of 12 scholarships.
#2. Scholarships of December
The December scholarship awards are worth one thousand dollars ($1000) and it is usually awarded to 6 successful applicants who make the final list.
How to Qualify
- Applicant must be a registered and full-time international English for Academic Purpose Program student at the George Brown College
- Applicant must have at least completed one or two levels of English for Academic Purposes Program with a grade A Average
- must have participated in departmental activities and community college activities as a social academic contribution
- must have never earned or being awarded a scholarship from George Brown College
- applicant must have a cover later listing the contributions he or she has made to the institution and other students which will include the name of the organization, number of hours per week and more useful details.
- attach a letter in support of your application from a George Brown College Staff must have never earned or been awarded a scholarship from a George Brown College Staff member.

Also, the Kimokran Toronto Scholarship is another great scholarship aimed at awarding only international students based on their academic performance and community involvement. the Kimokran Toronto Scholarship award is worth one thousand dollars ($1,000). to qualify for the kimokran Toronto Scholarship, applicants must.
- Be an international student with a study permit
- Be registered for a full-time diploma or degree in George Brown College
- Must have a minimum of 3.3 GPA academic grade in two semesters of study
- Must have always been participating in institution activities and also have made several positive contributions to other students
